4K colposcopy & dysplasia assessment

High-resolution 4K UHD video colposcopy – for detailed assessment after abnormal Pap/HPV results and for clear, well-documented follow-up.

Illustration: Colposcopy

Indications

  • Abnormal Pap test / cervical screening result
  • Positive (high-risk) HPV test
  • Abnormal finding of the cervix (portio) on examination
  • Follow-up for known cell changes (dysplasia/CIN) or after treatment
  • Assessment of suspected changes of cervix/vagina (based on examination/report)

What to expect

  • Short conversation: results, symptoms, questions, goal of the assessment
  • Examination similar to a routine gynecological check-up (speculum)
  • Applying a solution (e.g., acetic acid) to make changes more visible
  • Assessment under magnification with 4K UHD video colposcopy
  • If needed: a small tissue sample (biopsy)
  • Conclusion: clear explanation + plan (follow-up / treatment / referral, if needed)

Why 4K UHD video colposcopy?

  • Very high detail resolution – subtle changes can be assessed more reliably
  • Color-accurate image – important for evaluating tissue and vascular patterns
  • Special light/filter technology – supports assessment of vessels and lesion borders
  • Image documentation – helpful for follow-up, second opinions and reports for referring clinicians

For referring clinicians

Referrals are welcome. We are happy to perform the colposcopic assessment including (if indicated) biopsy and send a report to the referring practice.

Please include (if available)

  • Pap/HPV results

  • Relevant medication
  • Pregnancy status

FAQ

Is a colposcopy painful?

Usually, it feels similar to a Pap smear. If a biopsy is needed, it may be briefly uncomfortable; light bleeding afterwards is common.

What should I keep in mind after the examination?

You can usually go home right away. If a biopsy was taken, we will give you individual aftercare instructions.

What happens next?

We discuss the next steps transparently depending on the findings (follow-up, treatment or further assessment).
